9 months!

 I can't believe she's already 9 months.  Her 9 month stats were:
height: 2' 5"
weight: 19 lbs. 10 oz.

She's in the 90th percentile for everything except her weight.
She is such a joy for Tucker and I!

 (Do you like this onesie?  I made the crochet flower and then added it and the ribbon to it to spice it up!  I love how it turned out!  I made some more too with different ribbons and flowers.  I put snaps on the bows so they could be taken off to wash them.)

Here are some things we love about our little girl, and some interesting facts about her 9 month old status:
*She LOVES to read books... well, she LOVES to turn the pages.  As soon as I get the page a little up she lurches for it so she can turn it!  Her favorite books are the That's not my... books by Usbourne. 
*She has favorite pages in each of her books.  When she gets to the plane with the glossy tail or the dolly with frizzy hair, she just stays at those pages and touches them and makes lots of noises, and doesn't want to turn the page (the other times, all she's really interested in is turning the page)

* Her first tooth is poking through and boy is it sharp!
*She loves to throw toys and then spend awhile trying to get them again, only to throw them out of her reach again.
*She takes 3 naps a day ranging from 1.5-3 hours (usually not 3 hrs though unless we have company or had a long day the day before)
*She loves plain yogurt (which we mix with peas so she gets those in), avocado, cheese, and butternut squash
*She loves playing with her HABA blocks!
*She's started "talking" to us and imitating us.  The other day Tucker was coughing and if he'd cough once/twice then she'd make a coughing noise the same amount of times after him
*She leans back and puts her hands behind her head to rest, which is so cute!
*She can kiss us, give us high fives, and wave
*She doesn't really "get" finger food. She just picks it up and drops it off her tray or points at it
*She looks around things when they get in the way of what she's looking at.
*She adores Tucker!  She gets so excited when he's home and she always wants to watch him and know where he is when he's home.
*She sleeps on her stomach mostly.
 *Every once in a while she decides to cuddle for a few seconds and I'm in heaven! But, in general, she's never been much of a snuggler.  When it's time for her to go to bed I just put her in her crib with her pacie and she soothes herself to sleep.  Here's a few of those priceless moments that I get to cuddle with her!

Tucker's been out of town for a wind tunnel test this week and let me tell you- I'm exhausted!  I'm trying to get things back into shape after taking care of a sick baby for about 4 weeks and there's the added pressure of my parents coming to visit.  But, I just feel like I'm trying to keep my head above water...  I showed Lizette pictures of Tucker today and she started squealing and flailing her arms and legs.  My thoughts exactly!

Tucker's turning thirty!

I guess I'll stop there but the list goes on and on....and yes, I sure did put rocket science and soothing to sleep a sick baby on the same list- they are equally amazing to me!)

A few of my favorite things...

I thought I would post some of my favorite baby items for any who may be interested.  When it comes to baby things, I think the fewer supplies the better.  I don't really want, have room for, or can afford a house full of baby stuff.  So, here's my top 11!


1.  SWING- Lizette loves it and so do we.  Normally, she goes to sleep just fine being swaddled and given her pacie.  However, when we travel or when she's sick she'll sleep so soundly as long as we put her in the swing.  I did buy 75$ worth of batteries for the thing after Christmas when she got sick with a nasty cold and I realized just how much a full night's sleep was worth to me.  I WISH it had a plug in option, and if you find one that does please let us know!  But, I can't count the times that we've both said, "Man, what would we do without the swing?"

2.  Carseat Tent- My friend made this for us and it's SO cute!  We used it all the time to protect her from germs.  I'll never forget an old lady in the Dr.'s office hobbling over to the carrier, hacking all the way, asking to see the baby, hacking some more, and then asking in a scruffy, harsh voice, "Why you have that baby covered?"  Exactly!  They're also great for shading the baby on walks or car rides!  My friend sells them on an etsy here's a link to her shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SmittenByAPromise. They're a great price!  I made one for my sister and spent more making it myself than what she charges!

3.  Sound Machine- It's great for drowning out small noises while she sleeps.  She's a light sleeper like her daddy!  We had a sleep sheep, but I like one that goes all the time.

4.  Organic Baby swaddle wrap:  http://www.babyearth.com/kiddopotamus-swaddleme-organic-cotton-small.html  It's so great because it keeps her swaddled, is SO soft, AND has holes so she can be swaddled in the swing or car seat (which is WONDERFUL).

5.  AND organic fitted crib sheet (shown above).  It's super soft. Way softer than the target sheets I got. (I also LOVE her crib, it's so beautiful!)
6. TEA onesies.  They fit her so cutely, are so soft, and easy to get on and off for changes.  She wears their outfits all the time and I also love the patterns!

7.  These Robeez booties seemed like they would be just for fun, but they have been amazing!  They stay on her feet, go with any casual outfit, and are like shoes and socks in one!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!

8.  Burp pads from Aware, a company in Colorado.  They're amazing!  So absorbant, soft, and they fold up so tiny so it's so easy to carry several.  http://www.babyworldonline.net/store/shop_product.php?UPC=400000000089

9.  Triple fun exersaucer. It is a play mat, the exersaucer and becomes an "S" she can walk around when she starts standing.  Lizette has loved this at the first two stages!

10.  My sister made me a hooded towel from a bath sheet she bought and cut in two.  I love it because it's so much thicker than the normal ones that you can find.

11.  Organic cotton sheet.  It's the softest thing ever!
