Sick days...

So, we're back from a wonderful Christmas with family, but we're all sick.  Yesterday we were all home (Tucker took 2 sick days when we got back), and it was such a fun sick day (if I can even say that).  We lounged around the house, ate homemade chicken noodle soup (much better the 2nd day), watched 5 minutes of a VERY bad kungfu movie, watched Dinner for Schmuks (cute/funny), enjoyed the snowy day through the window, had some hot tea together, and cuddled with our sick little baby (she's only cuddly when she's sick).  I think it was the perfect day (besides the sicknesses)!

Thanksgiving

Tucker and I celebrated our own Thanksgiving before heading off to Abilene for Thanksgiving with the rest of my family.  We had a great time of sharing what we were thankful for this past year.  We thought about a few different areas and then shared with each other:
Specific areas of God's character that we were thankful for this past year
Praises of this past year
Something we learned and are thankful for
A hard situation that God saw us through/is seeing us through

It was such a neat time to reflect on the past year and to learn more about what God was doing in and through each of us.

Then we headed off to Abilene to celebrate with my family!  Here are some pictures from the trip:

Texas trip

Lizette and I braved the unknown and took a trip to visit family in Texas.  It was fun to get to introduce her to "d" and Monie.  I also had a lot of fun getting to hang out with little Claribel.  The trip was fun, but I learned a hard lesson.  My little Lizette does not like sleeping in new places.  This made it very hard to not have Tucker to share in the "experience."
We wanted to go to a pumpkin patch, but that didn't work out.  We set up our own and got some cute cousin pics!

Teething...

So, Lizette's been teething and it's been really hard.  I thought as soon as we got back from Texas and she was in her own bed she would be so much happier.  Unfortunately she started teething and it's been kinda rough.
Here's a good picture of her rosy cheeks.  They got so flushed while she was teething.

She did enjoy classical music time with daddy, even though she wasn't feeling too well!

Don't let it fool you though... she hasn't done much sleeping since she started teething.

Nursery Addition... finally!

We finally got the last piece of art up on the wall in the nursery.  We had to wait until after she was born because I wanted to add her footprints.  The hospital let us take home some of the print pads they use which made it nice.  We tried to do hand prints too, but I guess there was a reason the hospital didn't do them for us either.  I put a light pink ribbon around the edge but you can't see it too well in this picture.

Lizette mostly loves her naps!

She loves seeing her mom greet her when she wakes up from them.

She's been learning how to drink from a bottle.

She gets a little angry when she has to be changed before she eats!

She loves her bath time.

She's been introduced to the wonderful world of babydolls....

and humors her mother while she plays with hers!
